Security measures tightened in Manipur, 108 detained for violation
NEWS DESK, 24 JUNE
Manipur’s security forces have intensified their area dominance and search operations in the most vulnerable and outlying parts of the valley and hill districts.
A concerted effort resulted in the transportation of necessary goods by 286 cars along NH-2 and 264 vehicles along NH-37. Strict security measures have been put in place at all susceptible locations along these routes, and security convoys have been stationed at key intersections to ensure that traffic continues to flow safely.
A total of 126 Nakas (checkpoints) have been set up throughout Manipur’s districts as part of the security activities. The purpose of these checkpoints is to monitor and regulate illegal activity. They are positioned strategically in both hilly and valleyous areas.
